Intellinet RJ45 Gigabit switches use standard Cat.5e cables, making upgrades to Gigabit Ethernet easy AND cost effective. The IEEE standard for Gigabit over copper states "Inspite of the increased data rate, the signaling bandwidth of each of the line coding implementations currently for 1000Base-T (Gigabit) is no greater than required for 100Base-TX." That means that Certified Cat.5e cabling is all that is needed.
